The finish applied to the wood surfaces was a flood coat of clear Watco oil, then rubbed lightly with 400 grit Wet-Dry sandpaper. After 30 minutes it was reflooded, allowed to absorb for another 15 minutes, then wiped. |
| After three days, once the oil had cured and solvent evaporated, the surfaces were sprayed with three coats of Olympic waterbourne poly, with a light sanding between each coat. | ![]() |

After 36 hours of curing, the tabletop was leveled with 400 grit wet-dry sandpaper, then all surfaces were rubbed with 4-ought steel wool. This final rubbing produced the satin sheen I prefer on my projects. |
