Youth and Educational Services. The funds will be used to purchase Literacy
computer software and computer equipment and program operations. The funding is for Services of Hope (“SOH”)
Literacy/Character Academies, 2008-2009 school year
Project
Tomorrow –

Created
a
scholarship for a local student to attend Tyler Street Christian Academy. TSCA accepts
students for pre-school (three and four year olds) through grade 12. Tyler Street Christian Academy is
located in North Oak Cliff, just minutes from the downtown business district.
TSCA was founded in 1972 as a non-denominational Christian school to provide
parents an option in education for their child.

Heifer International heifer.org

Heifer International is a global nonprofit with a proven
solution to ending hunger and poverty in a sustainable way. Heifer helps
empower millions of families to lift them out of poverty and hunger to self-reliance
through gifts of livestock, seeds and trees and extensive training, which
provide a multiplying source of food and income. An animal was purchased with the grant.
Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) dallascasa.org

On an average day in Dallas County, nearly 2,000
abused and neglected children live in foster care because they cannot live
safely at home. These children need powerful voices to speak for them. Dallas
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a non-profit organization of
volunteers who are voices for abused children in court. CASA volunteers are
appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected
children in protective care.

New Day Services - newdayservices.org

NewDay
Services for Children and Families offers help and hope to the children and
families it comes in contact with through the Tarrant County Family and
Juvenile Court Systems. NewDay Services is creating services in Dallas County this
year. Programs include: Kid’s Quest (4 hour activity based seminar
for children of divorce 4-12 years old), FOCUS (Fathers Offering Children
Unfailing Support) 10 weekly classes for custodial fathers who are behind in
their child support payments; Access Without Conflict – 3 hour calls full of
visitation tools, communications strategies, designed for divorced(ing) parents.
