The Dallas Trinity Rotary Club founded A Taste for Dallas Sports fundraising in 2006. In the fall of each year, tickets are sold for $25/per ticket or $100/per book of 5 tickets for an opporunity to win a Dallas Sports ticket price. Historically, the grand prize has included 4 tickets to a Dallas Stars Game and parking pass, 4 tickets to a Dallas Cowboys Game and parking pass, 4 tickets to a Dallas Mavericks Game and parking glass, and tickets to local sporting events. In 2006, we held the first drawing at the Infomart, Crystal Palace Dinner room hosting a silent auction and wine tasting. In 2007, we held the drawing at The Old Red Courthouse also having a silent auction and wine tasting.
Our goal in these fundraising events is to award grants for local Dallas projects and Rotary International Grant Projects. In our first year, we raised $7,800 and awarded 7 grant applications. In our second year, we raised $8,400 and awarded 3 grant applications.
We sponsored Grants to the following organizations in 2006:Silent Auction items from 2007 included Emmett Smith Autorgraphed Football, Autographed Dallas Starts Jeresey, Sporting tickets and local artistian's work
